    Hi people

    Just wondering, if I apply for postgraduate entry medicine after completing a biochemistry degree, will they look at my GCSE grades? I was a fool and messed around at secondary school and seriously regret it, obtaining 1B 5Cs 2Ds 1E and 1U. This meant that I had to take BTEC LEVEL 3 SCIENCE. So I cannot study the original 5 year medicine course so I was going down the back route. Will I still be eligible for the post graduate entry medicine?!

    i did a btec and got into medicine after a degree in molecular and.cellular biology - however i think they do take Gcses into account , did u do any additional qualifications and what were ur btec grades?

    btw i got onto undergrad medicine - graduate programs are extremely competetive so i would say ur less likely if they look at previous grades, though this varies between universities - also getting a high ukcat and good experiance is crucial to securing an interview!

    what class degree are you predicted? they may overlook previous grades if u do particularly well

    Hi Brentton!
    Maybe you can help me. I'm an italian student and I'd like to continuing my studies in UK. I'm interested in a biochemistry degree. I have a certification and it can be compared with the BTEC national/Diploma/Certificate/Award. My grades was not very high. I don't know the equivalent with UK system. How did you met the entry requirements to study biochemistry?

    Thanks!

    Bonjourno, come stai? Haha I studied Italian NVQ ! The requirements in English to study biochemistry is MMM which is merit merit merit, some universities want DMM which is distinction , merit, merit.

    Pass= E grade
    Merit= C grade
    Distinction = A grade

    Hope that helps.
