    hey Guys,

I am really interested in science, so therefore want to do science A levels such as Biology & Chemistry.

However, I don't think my GCSE'S are good enough. i'm currently in yr 11 so still got some left.
My Gcse results are ( the ones i've done)

Core science- c ( don't know how that happened)
    Additional Science - Predicted a B
    Rs - Predicted a B
    Citizenship- Predicted a B
Maths- Predicted a C ( Hate the subject)
    English- Predicted a B
    Urdu - Predicted a B
    ICT - Predicted a B

With these predicted grades is it possible that I can possibly do pharmacy or optometry?
    I'm so stressed...

My guess is probably not ,I am not sure but i think you would need all A's and i think they would prefer triple science instead of core+additional but they would probably accept it if you did well and maths you would definitely need an A/B.

how is duel science as i am think of dropping out of triple last minute to do duel

Maths can be fun, I'm guessing you hate it because your teacher is a **** ?
if that is the case then just work at it at home , last year I had a predicted E/D but ,am now a solid B looking for an A

A-levels are much more important. Most uni's don't really care too much about your GCSE's as long as your getting B/C's in English, Maths and Science. The tricky thing will be whether you can do sciences at A-level with those grades. I know my school asks for B minimum in most subjects.

optometry want A in science (2 usually)at alevel with some being AAB and if youre getting Cs at GCSE with hard work, you are really going to struggle at Alevel. I got A* in science GCSE and am finding that getting an A is tough.

Right dont listen the guy who said you need all A's at gcse. My brother whos doing pharmacy now got straight B's at gcse and one A. But at a level he really worked hard and got 4As. Dont get your hopes to down, however in my school you need at least a B at core/additional science to study it at a level. People really over exagterate Gcses, of course if you want to do medacine or go to ocford then yes you need great Gcses, but pharmancy and optomerty you dont.

The problem isn't the GCSE results themselves since Universities care a lot more about A Levels, it's the explanation of your GCSE results. Getting Bs at GCSE in science definitely won't prevent you from getting better results at A Level (as the people above have said) but if you genuinely struggled in GCSE science then you may have even more difficulties at A Level since, obviously, it's considerably more difficult.
