    Hi
so it recently just occurred to me that i might be wanting to do maths at university- but i'm not doing further maths at a level- so this can be kind of difficult because the prospectuses i've looked at require an A in further maths...
Does anybody know any russell group universities that don't require an A in further maths?
I'm also doing chemistry and biology
    Thanks!

Depends, if you're doing AS right now you can always do ASFM next year.

Your best bet is to take up an AS in further maths next year if possible. Whether you do this or not, there will still be plenty of universities left to choose from - have a look at this table to compare the different offers. Some of them may change by the time you submit your application. http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...y_requirements

Some of the universities listed make alternative offers depending on if you have further maths to AS, A2 or not at all. You could apply to these (perhaps getting a higher offer than other applicants) although you may be penalised for not picking further maths initially if it was offered by your school.

University of Southampton-grades are A*AB or AAA without further maths. It's also within the Russell group. I'm sure there are lots more that do not require further maths. This information is available on university websites, etc.

I am in the same situation, im thinking of doing a maths degree aswell. Someone in my school is doing the whole A2 Further Maths in 1 year with no other subjects, but if i do that i will have 1 other a level aswell. I think that the best bet is to choose AS Further Maths in Year 13. And read ahead on A2 FM before you go to uni. I might apply to City, Kings ,Queens, Brunel. These unis i think are the most lenient on the A2 Further Maths situation
