I'm fascinated by East Asians - they seem like such sophisticated, interesting, wise persons.

They're also a breath of fresh air and welcome away from the now tired and boring White European Eurocentricism that has pervaded the West for quite some time.

What do you think? They look and seem like such fascinating human beings.

Why are you speaking about them as if they are a different species?

I'm not. My fascination of East Asians is simply one of adulation and admiration. Do not misrepresent my position, please.

In any case, I am translating such admiration of the East Asians peoples into the deeper learning of the cultures and languages of East Asia.

    Who is the East Asian?
I am speaking in grandiose, archaic-type speech - much like one would say the Englishman, or the Russian, or the Indian, or the Australian.

They're human beings - like the rest of the world, having a group of people born somewhere doesn't make them uniformly "sophisticated, interesting and wise".

What your describing sounds more like East Asian culture, and even then there are so many different cultures and philosophical traditions in East Asia.

Whilst we certainly need to start properly analysing philosophical ideas originating outside of Europe, it works both ways too; East Asian cultures can be quite insular at times (somewhat like Europe, several openly believed themselves to be superior to the rest of the world) and rather than replace one with the other, we've got to start learning from each other and realise that all cultures have their strengths and weaknesses.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly do you mean by the second line?

    Who is the East Asian?
    Surely Burt Kwouk.
