Elections for Non-Permanent members are held every two months. They do not hold veto power. The Permanent Members are known as and referred to as the 'P5' countries. They are the only countries to hold veto power. To exercise their veto, a P5 country will vote 'No' in a poll. Resolutions that have been passed by members of the General Assembly (GA) are then voted on in the Security Council (SC). Once voting on them has ended, an announcement will be made in the GA with the result and who voted. Votes made in the SC are public, subject to the "Motion to Reform the Security Council" of April 2006.

Thought I'd update this, clear out the rubbish and sticky it as a reference for new members to the MUN/SC.
Just updated, still had Okij (UK), Zav(China) and Uke on the council, and an empty Russia seat. Glad we've got a full SC now, activity's still a problem...
