1. Lack of interest or concern, especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal; indifference.
2. Lack of emotion or feeling; impassiveness.
Does it exist??

Can you ever be totally apathetic??

Yeah I think you can in some areas-I think a lot of people will have areas they feel apathetic towards.

But the lack of emotion bit.

Could you say kill someone and not feel ANY emotion about it.

Never FEEL anything or have an opinion on ANYTHING EVER??

That's what I mean by TOTAL apathy.

No one has total apathy (in the way you define it), imo.

But you can feel totally apathetic towards a particular thing, as others have said.

Yes I would have thought there are people who don't have the mental capacity to recognise or express emotions. If however a person rejects emotions or supresses them they have had to learn the skill and art to doing that.

Aspergers has something to do with recognition.....or not so good a capacity to understand/interpret behaviour, behavioural associations

Yeah, we had a kid with it on a camp I was working on last year and he had no spacial awareness e.g. he would just go straight up to people's faces and talk to them.

isnt spacial awaremess not knowing physical perspective and stuff??

I though aspergers was more the kind of thing you have used in your example. No sense of recognising emotion and no kinda "stranger danger" or inhibitions.

Yes it's the same thing. If someone laughed at a joke around this guy he would be like "why are you laughing? What's so funny?" Because he didn't understand the emotion of it or he would sit down right up close to people.
