I'm just checking to see what my chances of getting accepted are. [U]nfortunatelty, I had some circumstances that screwed up my undergraduate degree about five years ago (a 2.2). The uni has provided evidence of the circumstances though which i added to my application.
i was able to redeem myself during my MA and got a high 2.1 for it. i have tried to show how capable i am by handing more than is required for my application. i did a solid and detailed research proposal (even though we are not to do so until the second year of the course), have spoken to two of the professors in the department (meeting one). they both are willing to supervise me if i get in. i was able to get three great references (one from a prestigious anthropologist) and a recommendation from one of the professors at oxford. all green-lighted my proposal. my sample essays all recieved first class grades, and i have edited them further to perfect them.
what are your opinions - has my obsessive attention to detail and extra homework been able to neutralise the damage caused by my undergraduate degree?
