i'm looking to start university next year, and am completely torn between history and psychology. I found a post on here earlier and there was a link suggesting i could do a masters in psychology even if not studying it at undergraduate level.
So could anyone just confirm for me that i can do a BA in history then a Msc in Psychology and perhaps go on to do a Phd in psychology if i wish?
    Thanks for your help

To the best of my knowledge (as a Psychology undergrad) Psychology Masters are generally focused on a particular avenue of the subject, e.g. clinical, animal, health, etc. To do one of these you do need a grounding in the subject that you would get from doing a undergraduate course in Psychology. You're unlikely to be able to do an Msc in Psych after doing a BA.

oh okay! thank you it's just on the university of Nottingham it suggested you could do an Msc even if you have no background knowledge on the subject which i did find quite surprising!
I guess i'll just have to make a decision between the 2 haha!
    thanks for your help!

    No problem

If you do want to do postgrad stuff in Psychology I'd really recommend doing it as an undergraduate degree otherwise you'll be lost when it comes to doing any sort if experimental stuff, which you'll pretty much have to.
