Hey guys, I'm new to The Student Room and trying to get an idea on how this works, so please bare with me...

anywho, I'm looking for advice, help, tips, motivation... anything really to help me get through this exam.

In January I took my first AS exam, which happened to be English Literature, about The Picture of Dorian Gray and Yeats Irish Poetry, it went horrendously tbh, I got a D and was incredibly disheartened as English was once my strongest subject (got an A* in both Lit and Lang during GCSE), I understand the leap from GCSE to A-levels is dramatic and I've stressed this to my English teacher and I don't seem to be getting any more help.. I want to know if anyone else has gone through anything similar? How everyone revised for this sort of exam? It doesn't help that I'm now bombarded with coursework for English and other subjects too... I want to be able to manage my time productively and produce very good grades also.

Thank you so much in advance any advice is greaaaatly appreciated!

    hello just stumbled across this
for revising at the moment I'm just writing essay plans for the poems we've got up to in class and i think im going to make some sort of poster on similarities and dissimilarities within all the poems. try going on www.aterriblebeautyisborn.com, it's really helpful! also another thing would be looking at the marksheme and working on AO's that you're not sure of. hope this helps
