erm... ok you must be talking about c1 and c2 so im going...

and -1732 was the right answer in the c2 binomial question ;-)

the question had a k's and x's in with coefficients, but it was not in a quadratic form, as you had to take out k and x as a common facotr, which was not possible, does anyone else know the question im on about?
also how do u know -1732 is right, how did you get it, it is not possible as i have worked it out using my knowledge and the book

yey i got that

for the last question on C2 about tan1/2x=3 what did you put as what happened to the graph and what were the values you got as i think i got it very wrong

This is what I got for the last question:

cos0(sin0 - 3cos0) = 0 (i can't to theta either)

Therefore.....
cos0 = 0 or
sin0 - 3cos0 = 0

cos0=0
0 = cos-1(0)

sin0 - 3cos0 = 0
sin0 = 3cos0
sin0/cos0 = 3
tan0 = 3
0 = tan-1(3)

Am I the only one who didn't multiply out the brackets?

For the binomial one, I got -1732 or thereabouts

its -1732 because you worked out the factors for x in both - so the factor for x would be the sum of those two... it was -4096 and 2304... i cant remember completely though - i did a similar question at the weekend ;-)

i got 2 values which were 1.something and 2 which were 4.something - it wouldnt be 8.something because the first part said tan(1/2x)=3, and the 2nd part said tan(x)=3

I didn't do tan0 I used the sin0+cos0=1 to get a quadratic.. might not be completely right but im not really arsed lol

- cos of the -x in the first expansion
n -1732 is definitely right i checked it over with a friend a couple times
i got the two correct numbers but added instead of subtracting givin me 6400
hopeful for 2 outta 3 marks

well, i have worked out the answer now and that is incorrect, you try work it out

was their translation of 0 and -27

also how to do last q on c1?, when there are 2 coefficients of x^2!!!!!!!!

i stuffed up :hmpf: i found C1 alright but C2 was too hard! Definately lost a lot of marks in C2
