Are decomposing bacteria that decompose organic nitrogen/ urea into ammonium ions chemotrophic? Also are nitrogen fixating ions or denitrifying bacteria chemotrophic?

Not necessarily, they may be chemoautotrophic or decomposers

The bacteria that convert ammonium ions into nitrites (Nitrosomonas) and nitrites to nitrates (Nitrobacter) are chemoautotrophic, since they obtain energy through oxidation during the process of nitrification.

The nitrogen-fixing bacteria (Rhizobium) are facultative anaerobes, and can only fix nitrogen under anaerobic conditions, but this is optimum for nitrogenase, and they are otherwise not chemoautotrophic.

Denitrifying bacteria (Pseudomonas/Thiobacillus) require oxygen, so are not chemoautotrophs, but when oxygen is absent, they use the oxygen from nitrates.
