London Summer Internship Accommodation - Advice

Hi!

I'll be interning in London over the summer and will need a place to live for 8 weeks from the end of June to the end of August, more or less. I'm not really sure what channels to use for this - can anyone who's done an internship before give me some advice?

Thanks!

P.S. I'll be working near Bank tube station if that makes any difference...
First stop is the accomodation provided by the University of London! Over the summer they rent out their halls for people like yourself.

In addition to what's been said above, some people sublet their private halls over the summer, and advertise on TSR. This is just one example http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2315310

You can also look on Gumtree and SpareRoom to see about finding someone who is looking to take on a lodger.

As a somewhat more offbeat suggestion, backpackers hostels typically take on people who work a certain number of hours a week in exchange for free accommodation at the hostel. When I did it (not in the UK) 10-15 hours was a fairly typical number of hours to work, and they were very good about fitting shifts around any other work you might have.

Hey all,

I've moved to Amsterdam with work and have an apartment available for rent during the summer.

Was working in Canary Wharf which is only 10-15 mins by bus from the apartment (277 or D7).

Dead easy to get into Liverpool st too by central line (about 10 mins).

Would be for 3 people though. Let me know if you're interested!
