    Hello,

I am in my last year at school and it would be very convenient to know the living prices in these 2 towns. If someone lives there, could you please tell me how much do you pay for rent monthly and what's the situation with part-time jobs?

Also I suggest to moderators to create a general topic for this kind of questions

Or you could just do the research yourself?

I live in Reading/go to University of Reading.

Part time job pay is pretty good here because we're so close to London. There are normally some positions going.

Living costs in a shared house ranges from £300-350 for rent, then maybe another £30-50 a month for bills, dependant on how many people live in your house.

Halls are another matter entirely, but are generally more expensive than staying in a student house.

EDIT: Are you moving here for Uni or for full time work? Since rent is a whole load more expensive (and crappier/smaller) if you want something central if you are not looking for a student house.

Houseshares are probably around £350-450 a month depending on if bills are included or not (non-students).
