    Hi,

I want to edit a clip on Sony Vegas of Sky News HD for the moment the Pope was announced for a school news project. How would I get the recorded clip from the Sky Box to the computer?
I'd like the clip to be full HD. (No quality loss.)
Do I need a DVD Recorder? How much does one cost?

    Raheem

You can't take things off the sky box, its a totally different encoding. Surely you can just find this on YouTube, I'm pretty sure it is.

Also, full HD doesn't mean no quality loss, HD footage is compressed, which is a lossy compression.

It isn't about what is on the sky box, D/PVRs essentially record what is on the screen and store it on a new format.

Yea you will need a PVR to do this, but they are good £100+, like the other guy said, find it on the internet and use a free program (just Google free screen recorder) to record it.

Are there differences between ones? E.g Whats the difference between a £100 and a £500 one?

And would I need a good pc for this?

Being honest I don't know what the difference is without looking, I have never used on before, but I wouldn't waste my money when you can do it for free.
