    Hi,

I'd like to know whether I'm eligible for support. I'm a Lithuanian studying full-time in Germany. However, due to various issues I have decided to discontinue my studies there after two years (out of three) and move to the UK. However, as far as I understand, student loans are only granted to those who are doing a degree for the first time. Is it possible for me to take out a student loan if I did not finish my previous study?

    Thanks!

    HiHawk,

Yes you can take out a lot but previous study is taken into account when determining eligibility.

This means that as you've already studied for 2 year you will only be entitled to 2 years of tuition fee loans from the UK.

The funding will only be awarded in years 2 and 3 of a new course so you'll need to pay for your first year yourself.

    Thanks,
    Mark-Lee

Thank you for a quick reply.

In that case, I'd like to know if it matters that I have not received any state support or grants for my current studies. Also, would it make a difference if I did not complete the second year and ex-matriculated before the end of the semester?

    Hi Hawk,

No these won't make a different as we base entitlement on number of years studied not the funding that was available.

    Thanks,
    Mark-Lee
