    Does anybody knows an average age of postgraduate students in UK? I am 30. Am i too old?

    I was 47 when I started my postgrad - you're never too old!

    Unis value mature students just as much as the younger cohort. We have a bit more life experience and can sometimes be better at handling the type of wrinkles which study and research throws at us. We're highly motivated - most of us will have given up jobs, careers and time with family in order to study, so it's in our interests to really get on with the job.

    That's not to say younger postgrads don't have those attributes. I'm just using those examples to show that being an older student doesn't actually put you at a disadvantage when applying.
