Hey I'm going to be going to University in September and I'm having a Dilemma over whether or not to pick Durham or UCL.

I've figured out that its more or less the comfort + tradition/College life of Durham Vs the Excitement and opportunities afforded by UCL.

My brother is currently a student at Durham, and I know that at Durham you are given a large deal of support and immersion into the University, and was wondering what kind of support is available at UCL?

This includes things like Freshers Week - how is that handled and how are new students made to feel at home (if they are at all?).

My Mother is mainly concerned about my going to London and just being chucked in at the deep end and left to fend for myself, compared to the system at Durham which is very friendly and supportive.

Thanks for any information you can provide
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
