hello all, i'm currently doing an open university degree in economics and mathematical sciences, but i think going through a mid life crisis at the moment. i want to do the degree but i dont know if it would be worth it. i'm good at maths but im also do this degree part time because of work. im 27 years old so i'll probably finish the degree at 31 and that to me is very daunting...

well the question i wanted to ask is if i did very well in my degree and tried hard to find a job, would anyone hire me?

    thanks

You'll be fine. 31 is no age. Just check the OU careers page and see how many companies hire OU students. Even biggies in your field like KPMG hire OU students. It's how good you are that counts.

27 is a bit young to have a midlife crisis :p:

I can't say if you will get a job or not. However, there are plenty of mature students who study in their late 20s, 30s, and 40s and successfully change careers/get employment following graduation.

Your age isn't really important, especially as 31 is still relatively young. What is important is whether you have the experience and qualities an employer wants. What is your background? Have you worked in the past or are you currently working?

sorry for the lateness, but to answer your question, i have no experience in the industry and thats the problem, i even would work for free just to gain some whilst working my part time job in retail.

    any advice?

    kind regards
