I am currently in Year 12 and would like to study International Relations (possibly with politics) at University. Where could I find relevant work experience or a volunteer placement?
I have researched places such as various High Commissions, embassies and the UN etc., but they all seem to be offering internships for students who are above the age of 18.
I really need a placement, preferably for this summer (as I shall be filling in my UCAS application in September), but taking into consideration the fact that I am 16 at the moment (17 in June), it is proving rather difficult. I am considering volunteering for Amnesty International if all else fails, but I would like something that sets me apart from other candidates.
Are there any International Relations students here who would mind sharing their experiences RE work experience? I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions etc., thank you!
...or just paranoid?
