    Hi there guys,

So basically i'll try to break this down

I am looking to study computer science this year, however I am currently on a gap year working full time.

I finished college and got a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in ICT achieving grades MMM

The Have applied to 5 uni's however I only got accepted into two which are the cambridge anglia ruskin and brighton. However I don't really want to go to either of these due to the fact anglia ruskin is not that good of a university and brighton is going to be a problem (quite far away from me) and other personal issues

I have emailed about 10 university's I would like to go to and they have told me I have the requirements however I would need to apply through UCAS (they cannot offer me a guaranteed position through email)

However the problem is if i apply through extra and have to wait a few weeks for a reply or even get declined would i then not be able to apply for any more (then having to apply through clearing)

I hope you guys can give me some kind of help Would be greatly appreciative, thanks a lot !

And my last question is what would you guys determine the best university for computer science. Portsmouth, Coventry or Greenwich? Based on the course quality, city life and accommodation.

    Thanks

when you go into extra you can apply for one uni at a time, if you receive an offer or a rejection from the first extra uni, you can still decline it or apply to second extra uni as many times until you receive a conditional offer and accept it. thats what i heard, so you can apply again straight away if you've been rejected in extra untill you get a place , you won't have to go into clearing. clearing happens after a deadline, its all on their website

Unis are encouraged to reply within 21 days. If they don't, you have the option of changing that choice. So if you've applied through Extra and been waiting a while you should contact them and ask when they'll make a decision.

If you're unsuccessful you can choose a new Extra choice.
