    Hi all
I'm a british asian and I'm contemplating whether or not to apply for Oxford because it doesn't appear to be the most multicultural environment, and I'm worried is it segregated, or do students stick to ethnic groups (this happens in my school so it is a valid assumption)
i know it seems rather petty, and whilst i have plenty of friends from a huge variety of backgrounds, its always reassuring knowing there are like-cultured folk
    thanks

Are you kidding dude? You probably assume Oxford is as diverse as their team in the boat race. Don't worry, my cousin goes to Oxford and I've been there plenty of times and you'll be surprised at the amount of diversity in the student body. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to how much you are willing to socialise. There are those who want to stick to their ethnic groups, and others who don't really care. Good luck!

Admittedly the "middle-class white boy" stereotype is true to the extent that there are a lot of middle-class white boys here in Oxford, but that doesn't stop everyone from being cultured, accepting and just generally nice people. I'm also an ethnic-minority and have noticed no form of ethnic-group cliques at all. If you want to apply to Oxford then apply, your worries are completely unfounded
