Does anybody have plans for the summer working in a lab etc?

I have nothing and realise I really need to try and do something to make myself vaguely employable after I graduate, any ideas?

A lot of the deadlines for funded placements have already been and gone for this year unfortunately. Your best bet is to ask your department and see if they'll give you any work experience on a voluntary basis, perhaps with a PhD student.

There may be a few things on here of interest, but I'm not sure how many are still open to applications.

Yep I got 2 scholarships to do a research project in a lab at my uni this summer, one internal and one from the Wellcome Trust. Still waiting to hear back from the Genetics Society. Pretty excited for it to start

Pretty much trawling through the list in that link posted above is the way to go, but most will be closed by now so you might have to wait until next year, or you can try hospitals and stuff in your area for voluntary work.
