Attendance

I want to study geography at Leeds when I finish 6th form. However my attendance is low due to sick days and I am worried this will mean I wont get in. Is attendance something you look at when applying. If so what can i do?

Sorry to hear that you've not been well, but rest assured that this is something that admissions tutors will take into consideration when looking at your application.

I've spoken to our Geography Admissions Officer, and they recommend that you either ask your referee to address it directly in their reference statement, or you yourself address it in your personal statement (in your personal statement you don't need to specify what the illness was at all). Either way, by making reference to your illness and the time you've had to take off, it means that the Admissions Officer can take it into account when making their decision.
