What do the synthetic navy trousers feel like? are they comfortable and do they make you bum look big? Are they elasticated at the waste or buttoned and zipped?

I have to say I prefer the scrubs- look, looks cool and more hygienic somehow, not wanting to sound superficial but we all have preferences for the clothes we wear... hehehe.:confused:

No. Unless you are on a placement in an area where the staff wear scrubs such as theatres you will be expected to wear the university uniform as per their dress policy. The same rule appliers to registered nurses. I'd rather wear scrubs but have to wear a uniform.

    This.

You may well find that there are quite a few areas of the hospital aside from theatres where the nursing staff wear scrubs (A&E and MAU are examples), but there won't be the opportunity to choose. Where I work, it is sometimes practice to change into scrubs when working in the midst of a large infection control issue, such as a significant norovirus outbreak.

'Sometimes' is the operative word. I hate to sound neurotic and cynical, but the irony of adhering strictly to the great many infection control policies (some futile) at work prior to discharging goodness-knows-what into the community on my uniform at home time is never lost on me!

You know I was wondering about this. I do not want to wear the stupid dresses.

Some places give you the option between dresses and tunics and trousers, others just have tunics and trousers.
