    In the june 2011 f325 paper, there is question on nickel cadmium cell. It first asks you to predct half equation during discharging and then during recharging. The last part of the Q says that as the cell approaches full charge, the KOH starts to decompose to release o2 at one end and H2 at the other. I would have thought that at anode, : 4Oh- ----> 2h20+ o2 +4e-, and at cathode H+ +2e- ----> H2. But for cathode they give you in the mark scheme, H2O + 2e ----> h2 + oh-? Why so? Thanks.
