What's your BMI? (I know its not an ideal measure but gives some indication). And do you try and limit the amount of food/calories you eat or do lots of exercise?

Well, it depends on what you call "underweight", but being under or overweight at any age isn't great. What type of things do you eat, any idea how many calories? The best thing to do is to find calorie dense foods (peanut butter, whole milk etc) and try to build them into your diet in addition to the things you already eat.

Being a healthy weight is beneficial, so it's worth working out just how underweight you are.

You're probably an ectomorph aka less sensitive to carbs (yes believe it or not, its carbs that make you fat, people who tend to put on weight more quickly at endomorphs aka more sensitive to carbs) dont look at fats in nutrition as we all need around 100g of fats a day and even thats hard to achieve many firms use "fats" as a way to market their product as in "low in fat" because obviously people think "fats make you fat".

So what Im saying is if you do want to put on fat which I dont really recommend and imho you will slowly progress into normal weight as you are still young and your metabolism is pretty high but it will decrease as you age, then eat more stuff like ^ said peanut butters pretty easy as its tasty and packed with calories.
