    Hi everyone,

I've recently gotten an unconditional offer to study English Literature at Queen Mary. I went to visit last week, but unfortunately I went during Easter break so the campus was rather empty, and I only managed to meet with head of admissions rather than a lecturer itself. Any comments about the area, the university atmosphere and quality of the courses (doesn't have to be about English lit specifically, but that would be helpful) would be great.

A sort of add on: I've also gotten offers from Nottingham and Ediburgh, as well as the New York University Core Studies program. Between those and Queen Mary, what would you all suggest going for?

Hey. Queen Mary is a great uni, I do English and Drama at the moment and love it. The thing when choosing is to think of not just the course but the city and your environment. London always has something going on, there's transport links to anywhere you can think of and there's a butt load of people.

On the down side London is pretty expensive and personally, coming from a tiny village in the countryside, I've found it too big for comfort. (I love the size of Edinburgh but some people from cities might find it to be too small.)

If you have the option of going to New York I would go! Only because you can come back and live in England whenever (assuming you're from here). Have a think about what you want from uni outside of the course (because I can vouch that it's pretty damn good.)
