Ok so I got an iphone 4s a few months ago and now Im just looking to download apps etc. and some games. Anyway, Im sure its on 3G as I pay £25 a month on O2 and as far as I know, you generally only get wifi without contract and 3/4G on contract. However, I have a pretty low internet allowance, i.e 1GB per month as it was quite cheap. So my friend asked me if I wanted to use his wifi when I was at his house, is this usually a better thing to do? I wasn't quite sure how to use it, I guess I go into settings or something and put in password after finding network as usual?

Is it best to use wifi connections at home to save usage or does it take ages to download games and apps etc.?

yeah it is, actually using wifi doesn't cost you anything, you pay to supply it.

Always use wifi when at home, also it's much faster than 3g.
To use wifi....settings>wifi>on>connect to your wifi>enter password and its ready to use.

Yeah but I'm not sure which it will run on if you connect to both wifi and 3G. If you don't need 3G, then you might want to turn it off just in case it uses up your allowance.

Itll always use wifi if both are connected, but turning 3g off will save battery
