Any Redditor who may use TSR will be familiar with Life Pro Tips or LPTs.

Quite simply, post any tips which may help people in everyday life which, although they seem simple, can be surprisingly effective. I thought that such a thread would be quite appropriate in the Advice on Everyday Issues forum.

For more information or for more tips, see the subreddit: http://reddit.com/r/LifeProTips

Of course you can copy some from Reddit but try not to just turn the thread into a duplicate of the subreddit entries.

    Examples:

LPT: If ever in a large crowd and faced with having to yell "somebody call 911", don't, and instead explicitly point to someone and say "YOU, call 911". This will prevent the "Bystander Effect"
    Spoiler:
    Show
The Bystander Effect in summary, is when there is a large amount of people, and therefore everyone assumes someone else is calling for rescue, when in fact no one has because there are so many people around "someone else will".

LPT: If you get stuck in the snow while driving, use your floor mats
    Spoiler:
    Show
Stop. Don't just accelerate, you'll dig a deeper hole. Instead, pull out your floor mat and place it in front of the spinning tire, tucking it in tightly. SLOWLY inch forward and you will be out of the ditch in no time.

LPT: To avoid bee stings, stop moving and move something else
    Spoiler:
    Show
Bee instinctively atack whatever is moving when provoked. You could hide under a bush and shake the branhes while sneaking away to make the bees attack the bush instead of you.

LPT: Once you have tightly closed the lid on a can of paint, carefully hold the can upside down for a moment. This forms a thin coating on the inside of the lid that will dry into a tight seal, keeping the rest of the paint fresh for longer.

Unless obviously self-explanatory, try to elaborate on your LPT.

    Enjoy becoming life pros everybody!

And after you do this, point to someone else and say "YOU, call 999." This will summon emergency services while the first guy feels like a **** for listening to you.

So you are not watching their hand at all, you watch the elbow and that's supposed to help?

    Worth a shot...

However, am I the only one who doesn't have trouble highfiving anyway? lol

LPT: Remove chewing gum from your shoes or carpet using WD-40

    Spoiler:
    Show
Spray WD-40 on to anything which unfortunately has had chewing gum stuck to it which will not remove by other means. Leave for a couple of minutes and then simply wipe the chewing gum off!
