It's just a DNA virus
The retro virus specifically refers to the use of reverse transcriptase to ... well to reverse transcribe! (i.e. make DNA out of RNA)

And a virus containing ribonucleic acid is simply an RNA virus - retroviruses are a subtype of RNA viruses that, as Bekaboo said, turn RNA into DNA as a part of their life-cycle (until reverse transcriptase was discovered biologists thought this didn't ever happen!).
