I've got 10 AS exams this summer, including English Lit. I haven't got on with English at all this year, I feel like I haven't actually been taught anything so I have very little confidence in my ability to pass. English is fairly irrelevant for for what I want to do with my life, I only took it because I did well at GCSE. I do 4 other good subjects (Biology, Geography, Economics, Environmental Studies). Is it plausible for me to withdraw from my English Lit exam now? I'm not going to get a good grade and I think that making more attempts to try and improve my chances is just endangering my chances of getting good grades in my subjects that actually matter. Any advice?

Well no one can march you down into your exam and handcuff you to the table.

It's your choice, but i'd be very careful.
If you don't sit it you need to find out if you're going to get a 'U', and this won't look good on your uni app. Even if you don't revise for it but still sit the exam and just wing it and go off whatever you can remember, wouldn't that be better for having something to show for attending the lessons all year?
How will you explain that do universities, as it could be looked upon that you don't see things through to the end - you've already come this far.
