I have an unexpected smart work thing this week but sods law my old suit had an accident and my new one won't be finished getting altered until next weekend. Thankfully it's not full on smart so I can get away with blazer and trousers. I am keen not to look like the work experience kid amongst middle aged men who have wore smart clothes every day for as long as I have been alive so I feel advise is needed.

I have various black and black pinstriped trousers but none quite match my blazers so I decided upon a clear contrast so I don't just look like I got dressed in the dark- photo below, black blazer with blueish grey trousers. Now I can't decide on a shirt color. Options are black, white, grey and white stripped (grey is less blueish than the trousers), purple and black with white pinstripe.

(I am hoping you don't say white because it's a bit too transparent and I'd need to get a new one to be able to take my blazer off when back at my desk )

Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
