    Hi everyone.

I'm hoping to apply to UCL for 2014 entry to study history but I'm worried about the costs of living in London.

How do people do it? The accommodation costs seem huge and then there's all the living costs on top of that. How is it possible?

    Does anyone have any tips?

I've worked out on the student finance estimation calculator that with my maintenance loan and grant I'll be entitled to £7111 all together.

I just worry that I'll struggle and I don't want to be living in poverty if I can help it.

    Thanks.

You get enough money from student finance to be able to live in London, that is why if you study outside London you get less.

You might be eligible for a bursary from your uni which they'll assess you for automatically. Apart from that you'll have to get a PT job, that is what most people do.
