My mum is self-employed with a varying wage each year. How do I calculate my household income accurately?

I had to call SFE and ask them for a form to fill in. My dad had to ask his accountant to give a figure for the tax year then send it back.

It's not difficult but the form is a pain in the ass to fill in as it's so long.

You take the figure from self-assessment tax returns from the previous financial year.

Your mum is self employed so she will be filing a tax return to HMRC. Use this figure...

You have to base the application on a previous tax year, therefore you use the information from that year, which you can find on her self assessment tax forms she sends to HMRC.
