What's the term for that part in the film.. Watch

    ...where things have sort of hit a low.
    It doesn't occur in all films, but it's usually shortly before the climax. I was thinking denouement, but google has shown me to be wrong.

    The best example that springs to mind is in Moonrise Kingdom. After Sam and Suzy are found and taken home, *this* occurs. Shortly after, the scouts decide to help them, leading to the climax.

    *this* being the part where Captain Sharp shares a beer with Sam, and Laura Bishop talks to her daughter in the bath.

    I see similar stages in many films, and have always been keen on them.

    I think you may be referring to a 'self-fulfilling prophecy'?

    Do you mean the story has gone a bit flat before the climax and it all kicks off again?

    I dont know if there is a term for it, id just say the energy level comes right down so the big climax has more impact
