Hello I am from England and currently studying a btec level 3 which if I get a distinction, distinction, distinction it is equivalent to 3 a's at a levels, I am aware that I have to take my SATs if I wan't to go to an American College(university) but will American Colleges accept btec students who do well in their SATs and also I am in my first year of college in England and I want to move to America next year so is it possible for me to go to an American College with only GCSE's and a good mark in the SATs. thank you for helping.

Hey, I just answered a similar question here. http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=2323360

Basically: some US unis will take your BTEC, some probably won't. Good SAT results help a lot. I definitely recommend finishing your college studies in the UK though - most US unis/colleges will only take people who've graduated from "high school", which is their term for schools/colleges which finish at 18. If you're not sure about entrance policies, definitely phone up the institutions that you're interested in and ask directly. They're are loads of US unis of varying quality/admission difficulty and they all have different entrance policies.

They will still look at your other academic achievements, your applications essays, your references and your extra-curricular experiences, so all of those are important. However, SATs are the biggest factor in getting accepted.
