    Hiya,

    'Tackle' encompasses both mitigation and restoration (stopping it happening in the first place and repairing existing damage)

    Talking about technology by itself narrows things down a bit.

    How we might reduce the spread/impacts of degrading practices:
    - Artificial meat-cultivation in laboratories (A lot of damage is caused by expanding and poorly-managed pastoral farming practices and increasing demand for meat)
    - Use fertilisation/GM technologies to increase yields of existing arable farmland (so we get more food from the same amount of land, so avoid degrading more land)
    - Appropriate use of irrigation
    - Development of agricultural equipment that avoids the exposure of naked soil after harvesting
    - Recycling technology (reduces amount of waste dumped/ amount of raw materials needed to be extracted)
    - Renewable green energy (gets rid of damages caused by oil/coal/gas extraction, processing and use)
    - Other techs to reduce pollutant emissions (e.g. filters on power station chimneys)

    If this isn't enough to be getting on with, you might think about how we might restore land that is already seriously degraded (although much of this concerns practices more than technologies per-se, as does the mitigation of damages)

    Uth =]
