Apps are tied to your account rather than the phone, if you go into Google Play and search for them you will be able to reinstall them for free.

Purchasing Android apps is actually quite nice.

You seem to get an almost infinite number of licences for any app. So long as you're logged in to your Google account on your smartphone, you'll have access to all your apps, regardless of how many other devices you have them installed on!

I only have free apps, but quite a lot of them, around 150 and downloading them again will them too much time and data (PAYG).

What do you mean by my google account? Can't remember if I've set up one^^

Go to settings> Accounts and it'll show you your google account.

That is the account you set up to be able to access/download apps.
All apps are tied to this account.

When you get your new phone you log into this account, then you are shown a my apps page which allows you to download the apps again.

Connect to wi-fi and it's free to download.
