I would like to apply for the Deloitte Scholar scheme when applications are open.

What different areas can you specifically go into when on the scholar scheme during your paid work placement ?

    Thankyou!

Hi Sam, I have a place on the 2013 Scholar Scheme so will try and provide some insight. For the 8 month gap year placement, you can either apply for Audit, Tax or Consulting (London Only); this is followed by the placements you do each year while at university - talking to other previous Scholars, it seems apparent that you can venture into other areas of accountancy such as corporate finance/consulting or gain more experience in the initial field you chose (it seems really flexible).

I would recommend you apply straight away when applications open, earlier the better. I applied the day after apps opened and got an offer in October so it is a long and competitive process (I know a lot of people that got rejected, they only take 40 people from across the UK). Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions, the work experience and placement looks amazing on a CV and you can't really ask for a more well-respected firm than Deloitte to have as your first employer at the age of 18..

Thankyou very much for the reply! How flexible were the Universities about deferring your place for a year ?

I applied for deferred entry on my UCAS anyway so didn't have to bother (my Deloitte offer came before my UCAS was sent off). However, I know people that have deferred entry after initially applying for 2013 and unis haven't had a problem with it.

I really would love to apply for the deloittes scholar scheme for 2014 entry. I am currently taking my AS levels but I am unsure whether I am meant to apply this year as soon as possible or next year when I am taking my A2's. I have looked on their website but it says to apply for 2013 entry. When should I apply for 2014 entry??
Thank you so much, sorry if I am being really dumb and there is an obvious answer!

Hi. If you're in Year 12 now, you'd apply for 2014 entry from July 1st of this year.
