Parallax error?

Alright assume a question asked about how to reduce uncertainty. Say you had to measure something that needs to be lined up with a metre ruler and readings to be in mm.

Now, would saying reducing parallax error by using the mirror alignment method suffice to answer the question? Apart from a diagram drawn if asked for one, do you think this will suffice for 2 marks (or whatever it would be worth)?

I was told to 'require the presence of a fiducial point to improve the experiment' due to the parallax error so that's what I may write.
