So, I'm a practitioner of karate, and one things I'd love at home is to be able to train. Improving my technique (ie punches and kicks) would be easier if I had a punch bag.

Anyone know where I can find a good punch bag? Preferably not too expensive and one that stands on its own.

    1) Get a bag of flour and wrap it up vigorously in clingfoil.
    2)Print this off

...and glue it onto your brand new, homemade punch bag.

I remember a guy on here once suggesting that instead of going to gym, you should go to Tesco, put a bag of 25KG on your back, run around the store, and do a few squats etc.

    Was this you?

This. They had a 4ft filled Reebok one down to £10 from £40. Might still be in stock (probably not though).

No punch bag stands on its own without a stand (>£50) and they're not that great. Ideally you're looking at mounting it on a wall or ceiling/support beam.
