    Hi,

Yesterday I think I mananged to chip my tooth a little bit while eating. It's only a little bit, but does anyone know how urgent it is to get fixed? I read on the internet that sometimes they can get infected. :s I called the dentist and they send I'd have to wait until May for an appointment. However, I have a scheduled check-up already booked for June, is it ok to just wait until then?

I only chipped it a tiny bit btw and it doesn't hurt.

Yeah, wait til then. If there's a sharp edge that you might cut your tongue on, then file it down slightly just to smooth the edge. Not too far though or you'll encounter nerves and that will be serious! Other than that, carry on as you normally would.

It's not a big deal unless it hurts.

I've just been to the dentist for the first time in an embarrasingly long time and he told me that I had a chipped tooth. It must have been like that for ages and I didn't even notice.

It's quick to fix though, he just put a white filling in and it was done in 10 minutes. Because the tooth is chipped rather than decayed there is no need for painful drilling or anything.
