Hello I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice with universities. My three main choices are Bath Spa and Portsmouth for English/Film Studies and Winchester for Film Studies/Film Production. I hope to do these courses with an aim for gaining a career in the film/media industry. Any advice about universities or courses would be very useful.

Portsmouth seems to be most worldwide and national recognised. ^_^

Look at the course detail - these three courses wont be identical. Read the detailed unit/module/option descriptions (not just the titles) for all 3 years. Which would you choose - and why? Who are the teaching staff - academics or people who have actually worked in the film industry and a finally, check what work placements are offered and how much help you get in arranging these.

PS. Bath Spa is an exclusively 'arty' University in a very beautiful city. Winchester comes second on similar terms. Portsmouth, bottom - grimy Navy town and the Uni is science/tech focused.

None, there's no point in doing such a pointless degree.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your advise as its been really helpful and has lessened my worries about making the right choice. In regards to the post about it being pointless I completely disagree, as ive been told to do something I enjoy and have interest in and gain skills along the way rather than doing "worthy" degrees (which I could have done science or geography based degrees if I wished) where I would be unhappy and do little work because of my lack of interest.
