# Maths help! confidence deviation and interval watch

1. A second pH meter, whose measurement uncertainty is NOT known, makes five replicate measurements of the pH of another solution:
4.37, 4.42, 4.35, 4.41, 4.48
The mean and sample standard deviation for the above set of values are calculated as:
Mean, 4.406
Sample standard deviation, s = 0.050
Calculate the
iii) 95% confidence deviation and
iv) 95% confidence interval
for the true value of the pH of the solution.
