Jimmy Carr etc. tax arrangements, no worse than ISAs watch

    Is it not hypocritical of people to get so outraged at the personal tax arrangements of people like Jimmy Carr when many of them have ISAs and those that don't are probably too ignorant to know about the benefits of ISAs and would surely get them if they knew?

    Similarly companies that are registered overseas or whatever to avoid tax are doing nothing worse than people with ISAs. So why the resentment?

    ISAs are not vehicles for avoiding tax, they are set up specifcally to give a tax break to savers . equally overseas companies etc are not in themsleves tax avoidance vehicles, they have commercial purposes. But jimmy car et all use them simply to avoid paying tax in the uk, which was not their original purpose. there are various legitmate structures that have no tax benefit until you are earning big bucks like media/entertainment indivuals, whereupon they can be maniuplated, for a large fee, to reduce uk tax. i think thats what people have problem with
