I'm in my second year of a-levels and i've applied for a degree in mechanical engineering. I'm pretty tired of education and i'd like a break so i was thinking of taking a gap year, also i'd like to travel. However i haven't planned anything yet and lots of people have been advising me not to take a gap year because of the degree i've chosen to do. They say i will forget a lot of the maths needed for an engineering degree and that i'd find it really difficult getting back into the gist of things. So, what do people think??

I think it's your life, and you know what you want to do.

Well i want to take a gap year, but I don't want to jump into something that could be a bad decision. That's why I'm asking this question because I want to know whether anybody has experienced taking a gap year before heading into a quite demanding and mathematical degree like engineering and what their experiences were like.

#Do you have the money to travel. First year engineering is easy.
