What is best phone deal / method for student from UK going to USA for 1 year or just 1 semester?
Don't sign on a contract with AT&T or Verizon - yes, they'll waive the termination fee (standard contract is two years) if you can show you're leaving the country after your first year, but it's just a pain in the ass. I'd just recommend bringing an unlocked GSM phone and going with prepaid plans, the biggest example being T-Mobile's stuff.
