just wondering what would you have to do if you choose your firm, and apply for accommodation there, but you don't get the grades to get in, and so have to go to your insurance and cannot get into accommodation there as there isn't any places left..
As i'm afraid I wont get a place to stay if I miss my firm and/or my insurance offer ( and having to go through clearing )

If that happens to you, then
    - talk to the accommodation team about your chances of getting into halls rapidly after term had started. Some people do drop out during freshers week, so you may be able to stay with someone you know in the area until that happens, or even a backpackers hostel. Pick the right hostel, and it'll be like freshers week on steroids, though you won't keep in touch with the people you meet
    - private halls
    - if this is a common situation at that uni, they may put freshers in the same situation in touch so that they can rent a house together

If you don't get your firm or insurance and getting into uni through clearing. Each uni has different policy, some will have enough accommodation for all the first years. Others don't. My sister didn't get into either of her firm or insurance but got a place through clearing but she wasn't able to get into halls. So had to go private. The uni will always help you to find somewhere to live.
