I left school with 4 good A ‘levels but elected not to go to university and have practiced in law as a fee earner for about 17 years and completed my Ilex Part 1 examinations around 15 years ago.
I am interested in taking my GDL and proceeding to my LPC instead of going the Ilex route.
I understand that due to my experience in law I could apply to the SRA for a Certificate of Academic Standing based on my experience in practice in place of an undergraduate degree.
Does anyone have experience of this? What would the SRA expect to see? I can easily obtain a recommendation from barristers and a Judge but how do I apply and do I have any prospect?
    Thank you in anticipation

Thanks Ethereal. Unfortunately although I have signed up through that page previously the option for mature student doesn't work. I have contacted the SRA but no reply as yet.

Ah, I thought you were looking for the rules on it.

Yes, no surprise it doesn't work - they ****ed up keeping of the roll quite badly last year.
