2. I'm not too sure why they did it, but this is how I calculated it:

RMM of A = 213g mol-1
Mass of A used = 0.10g

Moles of A = Mass / RMM
= 0.10g / 213g mol-1
= 4.7x10-4mol

Volume of solution = 100cm3 = 0.1dm3

Moles = Volume x Concentration
Concentration = Moles / Volume
= 4.7x10-4mol / 0.1dm3
= 4.7x10-3mol dm-3

I don't think it matters how you get the answer as long as it is correct.
